Cut down the use of animated gifs - Animated gifs take a long time to load . But since they catch your attention you could use small animated gifs to draw a visitor's attention to a particular section of your site. Use background images instead of big images whenever possible - This is usually a very useful tip for headers and footers. Instead of using an image of width 580 which is a uniform design you can use just a part of that as a background fill. This reduces the size of the web page as the image is small.

Use Flash sparingly - There seems to be a lot of hype about Flash but I recommend that you minimize the use of Flash on a site. Don't make entire sites using Flash. 1 – Use contrasting colors

First, using a lot of web graphics, flash, banners and pictures on your home page may make it look fancy or cool; but it will slow down the loading time extensively. And lets be real here, most people that look at your web page will leave if it doesn't load in 3 seconds or less. Because most people are naturally impatient. If they click on a banner or link that leads to your home page, they expect to see it the second they click, all of it. The worst thing you can do is make a visitor search for a link by hiding it in a corner somewhere or make them click link after link just to find out how to contact you. Keep you pages clean, clutter free and from appearing as if it is all over the screen.



Last, Ad banners and outside links should be kept to a minimum on the home page of your site, nobody wants to visit a link farm. If you belong to a link exchange or trade links (which is a good idea for the search engines and link popularity), make pages that are just for links or ad banners. One or two banners on your home page is plenty, and are usually placed at the bottom or in a skyscraper on the right hand side of the page. However, if you belong to google adsense, it's okay, and a good idea, to place those links at the top of the page just under your header, because they produce revenue.

colored text like yellow on a white background and

to create excitement, use some red text. If you want to
create greed, use a some green text. Use colors that
would put you in a mood to buy your product.



3. Grab Their Attention- You can grab your readers
attention by using headlines. Make the headline more
noticeable by using a different colored headline than
your ad copy. This offsets the headline and pulls the

4. Highlight Keywords- You can emphasize phrases

instance, use super, deluxe, fast, low price, free, new,
etc. You could use bolding, underlining, italics, color

it, it's too small.



6. Don't Use All CAPS!- You don't want to use all

8. Spacing Out- It's important to use spaces properly

  5. Do not use distracting or busy background where text is much harder to read. Text is most easily read on extreme contrasting solid colored background like black text on white background.


  6. Navigation should be easily and quickly found by visitors . Moreover, visitors should be able to access all pages of your web site from any page as visitors will often enter your site from a search engine listing with a link other than your home page. You will have wasted the traffic and give the prospect a bad impression of your business if they find a dead end with no way to access the rest of your web site.


  7. Keep your site clean and uncluttered . Use spacing properly. Headings, subheadings, sentences and paragraphs should be consistently spaced. Indent and bullet should be used to highlight the key benefits of your products or services.


  8. Ad banners and outside links should be kept to a minimum on the home page of your web site as nobody wants to visit a link farm. If you are doing link exchange, make pages that are just for links or ad banners. However, if you belong to Google Adsense, it is recommended to place those links at the top and left hand side of the page because they produce revenue.


  9. Creative and original web site layouts are now easily implemented using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Creative use of navigation positions and other techniques have created sites that are very much different than the old standards. For most ecommerce businesses, uniqueness is a competitive edge which makes your website more memorable by customers.


  10. Do not use underline to highlight keywords as this will confuse your readers with hyperlinks.
